In the event the road condition is unsuitable for the Tour vehicle to be used during a specific segment of the tour a basic alternate third party vehicle would be provided, no liability or insurance would cover such vehicles. Poya holidays are observed on the day of each full moon in general, Hindu and Buddhist festivals are declared according to local astronomical observations and it is often only possible to forecast the approximate time of their occurrence. On such days of religious reverence selling alcohol in public is illegal, However at certain hotels the room bars remain accessible. Day 01

Bentota – Tangalle, 03 HOURS 30 MINUTES Your dedicated chauffeur guide will meet you at your hotel in Bentota. Wednesday Thereafter leaves the hotel to proceed towards Tangalle. En-route visit the UNESCO world heritage site Galle Fort.

One of the must-do activities during your visit to the scenic city of Galle is taking a walking tour around the Fod.

Being the only live-in Fort in South Asia and its rich history that dates since 1640, it offers ample reasons as well as locations to keep the visitors busy during a tour. The visitors have a multiplicity of options to choose, ranging from exploring the cinnamon warehouses, learning about the ancient pigeon post that was run from atop the lighthouse to Colombo as well as observe or click the most amazing images of the sinister looking Dutch prisons, old canons and many residences within the Fort that still bear strong influences of Dutch colonial architecture,

Day 03

Yala National Park

Morning enjoy a safari at the Yala National Park. Return back to the hotel and enjoy your lunch, After lunch enjoy a safari at the Yala National Park.

Day 04

Yala - Ella, 2 HOURS 30 MINUTES

After breakfast, proceed to Ella. Ella, which literally translates into waterfall is a name fit for this little town located in a hilly nook, owing to its stunning vistas richly adorned with cascades that trickle down its rugged terrains.

The unparalleled beauty of the vistas in Ella includes the Ella gap where one can enjoy the sights of the grand stone bridge that stands tall, with nine archways. The walk leading to the Ella gap falls through a railway and is definitely a factor that would add to the excitement of the little trek. The spectacular bird's-eye views available at the crests of the mini Adam's peak and Bambaragala are visits that should not be missed!

Day 05

Ella

Morning conduct a trek at Little Adams Peak.

It has been named after the most revered mountain top in Sri Lanka - Adam's peak, and is due to the resemblance in its shape and the spectacular bird eye views that stretch before one eyes upon reaching its crest that are quite similar to those of the Adam's peak.

Return to the hotel and stay at leisure.

Day 06

Ella. Nuwara Eliya, 2 HOURS 30 MINUTES

Morning proceed to Nuwara Eliya.

Nuwara Eliya dubbed the Little England of Sri Lanka is located in the thick, misty hills of this paradise isle. The colonial atmosphere remains preserved, resembles a British countryside complete with rose gardens, hedges and red- roofed bungalows. Nuwara Eliya also has one of the finest l8hole golf courses in South Asia.

Day 07

Nuwara Eliya - Horton Plains, 01 HOUR 30 MINUTES

Early morning gear up for a trek at Horton Plains. The Horton plains from an undulating plateau over 2000 meters high, which consists mainly of grasslands interspersed with patches of forest, with some unusual high-altitude vegetation. The plains are more often than not, visible only before 10.00am due to the heavy mist, which engulfs the area. The most unique feature of the Horton Plains is the "World's End". This is a sheer 1000 feet vertical escarpment which visitors throng to see. The Horton Plains was once the hunting ground for Mr. Farr, a former British Governor which is today home to rare species of fauna and flora.

Day 08

Nuwara Eliya - Kandy, 4 HOURS

After breakfast proceed to Kandy. You will be transferred to the Nanu Oya.

Railway station in time to board the train.

Kandy - a lovely exotic city, the Hill Capital and last stronghold of the Sinhala Kings is a UNESCO World Heritage Site which retains an aura of grandeur, time has not affected. Encircled by hills, with a tranquil lake in its centre, it is the site of the renowned temple that enshrines the Tooth Relic of the Buddha and the Royal Botanical gardens - home to one of the world's best collections of Orchids. A cultural sanctuary where many legends, traditions and folklore are still lovingly kept alive, Kandy and its satellite villages are the centre of the islands handicraft industry (items of wood, brass & silver) exquisite silver or Gold Jewellery and precious gems of many varieties including the world's best blue and star. Day 09

KANDY- SIGIRIYA, 3 Hours, Sigiriya- Minneriya, 1 HOUR

Today head towards the cultural triangle. Check-in to the hotel. Afternoon experience a jeep safari at Kaudulla / Minneriya National Park.

Minneriya, located in the backwoods of the North Central Province is home to the famous Minneriya National Park that shelters some of the greatest wildlife treasures of this paradise isle. The park, nourished by an ancient man-made tank provides shelter for troupes of toque monkeys, Sambar Deer as well as leopards, elephants and bird-flock including little cormorants and painted storks to name a few. It is also renowned for the Sixth Greatest Wildlife Spectacle of the World'- the amazing phenomenon of the Minneriya Elephant gathering that occurs annually during August - September.

Day 10

SIGIRIYA

Morning enjoy a village tour. Conveniently located in the center of the cultural triangle of Sri Lanka is the little leafy village of Habarana, where its travellers are offered a remarkable experience of the true spirit of Sri Lankan rural life, The visitors are offered the chance to enjoy traditional bullock cart rides across the hamlet that are driven across lush green paddy fields and mud-thatched houses that speak amply of the distinctive beauty of the rural villages of this paradise isle.

Return to the hotel and relax.

Afternoon enjoy a climb at Pidurangala.

Located in close proximity to the wondrous Sigiriya rock fortress, Pindurangala was once a royal temple that sheltered some 500 monk, operating under the patronage of medieval King Kashyapa - the ruler of Sigiriya.

Surrounded by a brick rampart, all that remains of this once thriving monastery today are the meditation chambers constructed within a large cave and a 48-ft. reclining Buddha statue constructed of bricks, clay and lime as well as one of Asia's oldest Stupas (a mound-like structure that holds Buddhist relics). Once the ruins are observed, the visitors can climb to the top of the rock that opens out into a fantastic view of the dry-zone forestry surrounding Sigiriya.

Day 11

SIGIRIYA : POLONNARUWA, 1 HOUR 30 MTNUTES - POLONNARUWA - NEGOMBO 5 HOURS

After breakfast proceed to Polonnaruwa, the medieval capital. Enjoy a cycle ride around the ancient site.

Polonnaruwa - this medieval city, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, rose to fame as the capital (10th - 12th century AD) after the decline of Anuradhapura. The entire landscape of the region is punctuated by huge man- made reservoirs, the most famous of which is the Parakrama Samudra or the Sea of Parakrama, larger in size than the Colombo harbour. The monuments are relatively well preserved and give clear evidence of the glory of Sri Lanka's past. Highlights are the Royal Palace complex including the Kings Palace and Audience Hall, the Quadrangle with its concentration of ancient heritage and the spectacular Gal Vihare complex of four massive images of the Buddha, cut from a single slab of granite - a highlight of ancient Sri Lankan rock carving, Some of the best examples of the Hindu influence - the Temples of Shiva, intricate statues of Hindu Gods, fascinating Buddhist temples, the Lankatileka and Watadage, the Galpotha, the Lotus bath, the Kiri Vihare Dagoba and the remains of a former Temple of the Tooth are other impressive sights.

After the excursion you will be transferred to Negombo.

    Brilliant 90 minutes spent learning to row the Venetian way in a traditional boat along & around the canals and into the lagoon itself. Expert tuition and local knowledge all adding to a fun “doing” experience. Highly recommended!

    An absolute must for any trip to Venice. Forget the tacky gondalors and tack control your self. We were fortunately to have our lesson with Eleanor, the founder, who is passionate about teaching and passing on the traditional boating skills which save the pollution caused by motor boats.
