Sri Lanka’s geography is such that a short 2-3 hour journey will take travelers to a completely different ecology with different climates, temperatures, and biodiversity.

Rafting & Canoeing
The many rivers, which originate high in the central hills of the island form exciting rapids while on their hurried journey down to the ocean. Most rapids, though short, are exhilarating and range from level 3 – 4 Canoeing or still water rafting on the many rivers and tributaries offer a “timeless experience”.

Camping
To be “one with nature” there is no better way than a camp set at the edge of a pristine wilderness, inside the jungle or on a cliff overlooking panoramic views of forbidding mountainscape. Let the trumpeting of a lonely Tusker or the roar of a stealthy Leopard full you to sleep while camping in Sri Lanka.

Cycling and Mountain Biking
Sri Lanka’s compact geography provides the perfect setting for cycling tours with just the right amount of challenge and plenty of discovery and exposure to its natural and cultural wonders. We tailor tours to sute the specific needs of the traveller, be it the challenge of a coast-to-coast cycle ride, a mountain foray or a family adventure.
Nature Odyssey not only provides exciting itineraries, which take clients through remote villages and pristine landscape, we can also provide support riders, back – up vehicles and other necessities, which make a biking holiday more comfortable.

Trekking
Sri Lanka’s extremely varied terrain and habitat, which exists as a result of altitudes varying from 0-2530 m and annual rainfall ranging from 100cm in the Dry zone to 500cm in the Wet zone, make it the perfect destination for trekkers.

Trekking through the Sinharaja Rainforest which abounds with Sri Lanka’s endemic bird life and hundreds of species of amphibians and small mammals is a “once in a life time” experience. Trek on misty mountain trails and descend through lush Tea plantations to remote valleys, where time forgotten, simple people live a quality of life worth living.

Sri Lanka is minute when compared to other giants of the world. However, the breathtaking scenery, wide open vistas and picturesque terrain will make you stop and marvel at the wonders of this little island. Most of the highlights can be experienced in as short a time as 7 nights. However, to fully appreciate what Sri Lanka has to offer we recommend a 10-14 night tour.
